ich hab mir einen
wolf dackel appliziert, einen französischen! vielleicht erkennt ihr den kleinen GASTON aus
meiner neuen BONJOUR PARIS stickserie wieder!? also, früher habe ich ganz viel und mit großem spaß appliziert. seit ich eine stickmaschine mein eigen nenne, dann aber eigentlich kaum noch. jetzt wollte ich wissen, ob ich es noch kann… ja, geht noch!

BONJOUR PARIS embroidery file!? well, i did lots of appliqués years ago when i didn’t own an embroidery machine. it’s been a long time since then, but now i wanted to know if i can still make it… yes, still i can!
… und ich dachte, dass sich vielleicht ein paar von euch, ohne oder mit stickmaschine, über eine APPLIKATIONSvorlage samt tutorial freuen, und es selbst einmal ausprobieren möchten.
…. and i was wondering, if some of you might try it yourself. so i created a APPLIQUÉ pattern for you to download.

zum applizieren benötigt ihr verschiedene stoffe nach wunsch, etwas vliesoFIX (doppelseitig aufbügelbares haftvlies), einen bleistift, ein paar knöpfe und vielleicht noch ein bisschen zusätzliches material zum verzieren. ihr könnt auf feste baumwollstoffe applizieren aber auch auf jersey oder sweat, wenn ihr zum beispiel ein shirt verzieren wollt. wenn ihr jedoch einen solchen elastischen stoff appliziert, empfehle ich, dabei auf der rückseite ein stück abreißbares stickvlies unterzulegen, damit sich der stoff durch den zickzack-stich nicht zusammen zieht.
ich habe ein stück gewöhnlichen baumwollstoff als TRÄGERstoff genommen. später soll daraus mal eine tasche werden. aber jetzt geht es erst einmal los mit der dackeligen APPLI…

to make an appliqué you will need some different fabrics of your taste, a bit of adhesive interface to iron-on (if anybody told me the correct name for that stuff, i’d be glad. sometimes translating is not that easy ;) , a pencil, some buttons and maybe some additional embellishing material. you can sew your appliqué on cotton fabrics (quilt weight is fine) or on knitting ware for sweaters and tees. when working on elastic fabrics make sure to put a piece of tear away emboridery stabelizer on the left side of the fabric to avoid tightening of the fibres when sewing the narrow zigzag stitch.
in this case i chose myself a cotton fabric. i plan to make a tote bag of it later… bot now let’s start with the appliqué…
ich denke, soweit ist alles klar, oder? wenn ihr die teile der vorlage im nächsten schritt übertragt, dann überlegt euch vorher, in welche richtung euer dackel schauen soll. denn das ergebnis ist immer spiegelverkehrt. nehmt ihr die vorlage, so wie sie ist, dann schaut der applizierte gaston später nach rechts! ;)
(1) print the pattern 2 times and cut out every single body part of the doggy. (2) take your pieces of different fabrics and iron adhesive interface on the left side.
i think this seems pretty clear so far!? when transfering the pattern onto the fabric take a moment to think about which direction your gaston is supposed to have at the end. your appliqé will always be mirror inverted! ;)
gastons kleine körperteilchen sind jetzt vorbereitet, nun kann es ans aufbügeln und eigentliche applizieren gehen…
(3) transfer the outlines of the boby parts to the backside of the fabric pieces. (4) assemble the parts together to check if everything fits perfectly. (5) now peel off te paper of the adhesive iron-on surface. gaston’s little body parts are now prepared, next step will be the ironing and sewing…
beim applizieren näht ihr mit dem ZICKZACKstich nah an der stoffkante entlang. achtet darauf, dass die schnittkante des APPLIstoffs gut von dem stich überdeckt wird, so dass der stoff später nicht ausreißen und/oder ausfransen kann.
(6) put the parts together on your fabric (leaving the ear part aside) and iron according to instructions of the adhesive foil. (7+8) test your perfect ZIGZAG stitch at your sewing machine.
jetzt ist unser dackel schon ganz, aber ihm fehlt noch eindeutig das gewisse etwas und natürlich der pariser charme!
using that zigzag stitch sew along near the edge of the decorating fabric. make sure to cover the edge carefully. (10) sew the body parts first and the striped sweater part secondly. (11) then iron on the ear and appliqué as well. now we have a complete dachshund but there are still missing some fancy accessoires!
für das gelbe halstuch habe ich stückchen von einem schrägband verwendet, die ich mit ein paar stichen aufgenäht habe. das baskenmützchen ist ein stoff-YOYO. wie man ein yoyo ohne großartige hilfsmittel machen kann, könnt ihr
HIER sehen. ich bin dafür immer ein bisschen zu ungeduldig… einfacher und schneller geht es nämlich mit einem
YOYO maker von clover, die gibt es auch in vielen online shops hier in deutschland (einfach mal googeln ;). als bommel dient ein kleiner filz-pompom von einem minireststück pompomborte… wie gut, dass ich wirklich immer zwanghaft jeden pups aufheben muss!
i took some pieces of bias tape to make a neck scarf. moreover i used a fabric YOYO to create a little beret. you can find a tutorial how to make a yoyo
HERE . im an impatient girl, so is used the
clover YOYO maker. for the “bobble” i used a scrap pompom of a pompom trim … yes i keeep every little scrap thingy!
hier ist er nochmal, der kleine pariser DACKEL. trés chic, n’est-ce pas? … und nun wartet er darauf, demnächst auf einer tasche spazieren geführt zu werden, die muss ich jedoch erst noch nähen. aber heute nicht mehr… jetzt wünsche ich euch einen gemütlichen abend!
