… das ist, was der autor dieses buches maxwell gillingham-ryan sagt. er hat recht. unser zuhause ist unser rückzugsort, wir sollten uns also dort so wohl wie nur irgend möglich fühlen. für mich persönlich ist mein heim zudem auch noch gleichzeitig mein arbeitsplatz und ich kann nur kreativ sein, wenn ich mich in meiner umgebung wohl fühle. 

… that’s what maxwell gillingham-ryan, the author of this book, says. he’s right. our home is our shelter, so we should all feel as happy as we can at home. for me personally my home is my working space at the same time, i just couldn’t be creative in a place that don’t suit me.

gezeigt werden so wunderbar lebendige und einzigartige räume, bewohnt von realen menschen. die mischung aus vintage und neuem ist umwerfend inspirierend.

this book shows amazing vivid and quirky spaces of real people. the mixture of vintage and new is intruiging and inspiring. 

ich liebe all diese kleinen details, die ein zuhause DEIN zuhause machen, die deine persönlichkeit wiederspiegeln. davon gibt es in diesem buch reichlich.

i especially love all these little details that make a home YOUR home, a place that shows your personality. you can find a lot of these lovely details in this book.

außerdem gibt es so viele kleine, feine ideen “zum klauen”… wie den fernseh-flachbildschirm auf einer maler-staffelei… oder aber diese entzückende küchenschrank-front! da wünschte ich mir glatt, ich hätte olle braune küchenschränke, die dringend einen anstrich bräuchten…

the book provides you with awesome little ideas “to steal”… like the flat TV screen on an artist’s easel… or this adorable kitchen cabinet decor! it makes me wish for ugly kitchen furniture to paint…

[the nest] HOME DESIGN handbook – simple ways to decorate, organize and personalize your place. die bezeichnung “handbuch” trifft es sehr gut, denn das buch ist in meinen augen vor allem ein wohnRATGEBER. aufgeteilt in die kapitel LIVE [leben] – EAT [essen] – SLEEP [schlafen] und STASH [verstauen] bietet es für alle bereiche eine ganz klassische wohnberatung in sachen möbelauswahl, raumaufteilung, farbwahl und dekoration, praktische planungshilfen inklusive. der im buch gezeigte einrichtungsstil ist durchgängig hell und modern, aber mit einem eher klassischen touch. freunde von klaren linien und  symmetrie kommen hier auf ihre kosten.
