NYC markets #2 | brooklyn flea market

ladies, i’d like to continue with my little NYC markets series. for my family and me the BROOKLYN FLEA is an abolute MUST when traveling to new york. every time we visited the city, the market took place at another lovely location. the first time we went there it was located right underneath the BROOKLYN BRIDGE… it was breathtaking. it’s a bummer that these times are gone as the brooklyn brigde park was completey reshaped, so that the flea had to find another area. during the colder season one can find it in the impressive building of the former WILLIAMSBURG SAVINGS BANK. a flea market between opulent pillars, golden ceilings and really thick vault doors is an amazing flea market EXPERIENCE, i can tell you.

on our last trip we went to see the brooklyn flea at FORT GREENE. the location is not that spectacular as the others, but exploring the market, having a good time and watching people is fun anyway!

we had a blast at A. VANHOEK RETRO OPTICS. luzie was about to buy some vintage glasses although she doesn’t need specs at all!

i was drooling over the bunch of turquoise [turquoise!!!] ball MASON jars. but i really didn’t know how to transport these darlings back home.

no matter which location… the brooklyn flea always has the coolest stuff as well as some yummy food.   like pizza fresh from a mobile brick oven from PIZZA MOTO BROOKLYN for example… whoa, so delicious!

unforunately i couldn’t have a lobster roll after the pizza anymore. but i swear i’m going to have tons of them in summer… at places where you can get lobster rolls on every corner. ;)

we enjoyed that morning so much, that we decided to see the flea at SMORGASBURG [brooklyn bridge park] the next day.. but hurricane SANDY was on it’s way and the market was cancelled. ok, we’ll make that up leeway next time, because we’ll be back for sure…
