… wäre sie nicht eindeutig GELB? ich glaube, JA!
 … it was surely YELLOW? don’t you think?
nun habe ich es endlich nach langer zeit geschafft, eine meiner lieblingsFOTOGRAFIEN zu vergrößern. bei dem anblick muss ich einfach lächeln! in meiner sammlung an fröhlich gelben inspirationen in meinem PINTERESTboard “hello, happy YELLOW”, bin ich außerdem auch wieder auf das wunderbare FREE PRINTABLE von leanne gestoßen. auf dem blog MAKE IT PERFECT findet ihr diese ultimativen tipps zum glücklichsein und viele andere tolle art prints zum herunterladen. der gepunktete stoff, den ich als hintergrund für mein GLÜCKSfoto benutzt habe, ist ein TA DOT von michael miller… und naja, das taxi ist ein wunderbar kitschiges touri-andenken an unsere erste reise in meine absolute LIEBLINGSSTADT. eigentlich logisch irgendwie, dass es gelb ist… 
these totally genius MINIATURE cameras are made by the amazingly talented sandra {LilaLotta} and they make me happy every time i look at them. sandra generously shared a tutorial how to make them out of polymer clay HERE by the way. THANK YOU again, sandra!
the polka dot fabric i used for the photo framing is a TA DOT by michael miller… and this little cab is a beloved kitschy tourist souvenir i brought home from our first trip to my all time FAVORITE CITY.
somehow to me it’s no wonder this thing is yellow, too…

colors…
… waren schon immer ein ganz wichtiges thema für mich. wenn ihr mein blog öfter lest, wisst ihr das natürlich längst. umso schockierender wohl, dass unser neues schlafzimmer nun komplett WEISS gestrichen ist. aber das ist eigentlich ein ganz anderes thema…
… have always been very important for me and my life. if you are a constant blog-reader you already know that of course. well, so it’s probably quite shocking that we painted our new bedroom all WHITE now.  but that’s another story…
hier im blog und per mail kamen nämlich fragen nach dem farbton in luzies neuem zimmer. nun, wir haben ein bisschen geschummelt… dort haben wir nämlich gar nicht frisch gestrichen, sondern wir haben mit unserer tochter einfach das zimmer getauscht. neue farbe hatte dieser raum schon vor einer weile bekommen, wie ihr HIER sehen könnt,  und wir waren ziemlich froh, dass luzie die einfach behalten wollte!
you asked for the name of the color used in luzie’s new room. actally we are cheating because luzie’s new room was our bedroom before, we just switched! we painted it just a few months ago, as you can see HERE in this posting, and now we’re really glad that luzie wanted to keep the color.

heute im baumarkt (dem mit dem biber und den großen orangen O) war ich mal wieder auf farbmission unterwegs und habe auch gleich nochmal geschaut, welchen türkis-ton wir da hatten.  sie heißt ALOVERA (ja, schreibt sich so, ohne E nach dem O ;) in der mischung #8.
außerdem kamen ein paar farbkärtchen in GELBtönen mit nach hause. man könnte sagen, ich hätte im moment akutes gelbfieber… *lach* irgendwas im haus muss noch gelb werden… marille oder grapefruit oder curcuma, mal sehen.

today i went to the DIY store being on a color mission again. i checked the tone of color we used back then… it’s called ALOVERA (yes, without an E behind the O) #8. i also took some color charts in shades of YELLOW with me. seems like i am suffering from acute yellow fever lately… something has to turn yellow in this house! marille or grapefuit or curcuma, let’s see…

die farbkärtchen wurden übrigens in diesem entzückenden WEGBEGLEITER von eni {mein morgenstern} nach hause getragen… das nenn ich jetzt mal farbkoordiniertes einkaufen! ;)
by the way… i carried the color charts home with me in this adorable handmade by eni {mein morgenstern}… it’s called WEGBEGLEITER (= companion)… kinda color coordinated shopping, huh? ;)

we had perfect weather to visit a museum today on our last day in paris. this one is my favorite shot of the day “colorful woman in front of colorful modern art”… shot at the centre georges pompidou!

{KEEP CALM and LURE SPRING… woche / week # 9 ~ zitronengelb / lemon yellow}
sauer macht lustig!
eine zitronengelbe aufmunterung habe ich heute auch nötig. denn ich bin total traurig, dass KEEP CALM and LURE SPRING schon vorbei ist… 9 wochen sind vergangen wie im fluge und nun ist er da, der frühling! das haben wir gut gemacht, oder? ;)
we have a saying here in germany that is “sauer macht lustig” which means kind of  “sour makes frolic”. i really need some lemon yellow cheer up today, because i am so sad that KEEP CALM and  LURE SPRING is already over… 9 weeks just spun away and now spring is here! well done, right? ;)

ist es wirklich das letzte mal heute? OK, die sonne strahlt heute morgen, der frühling ist da, das lässt sich nicht leugnen… und trotzdem bin ich irgendwie ziemlich traurig jetzt. wer hätte das gedacht!? unser kollektiver wöchentlicher  FARBRAUSCH wird mir verdammt fehlen!
is it the last time today? OK, the sun is shining, i can’t deny spring is finally here… but now i feel kind of sad. who’d a thunk!? i am going to miss our little weekly collective COLOR RUSH so badly!

oh oh ORANGE!
… du fröhliche farbe, ich möchte heute mal eine lanze für dich brechen. ich habe mal gelesen, dass du gleich hinter braun kommst, wenn man die leute nach der farbe fragt, die sie am wenigsten lieben. das verstehe ich überhaupt nicht!!! für mich bist du das sinnbild von fröhlichkeit, dynamik und wärme! du bist eine warnfarbe und schützt die menschen. du bist für mich DIE farbe meiner glücklichen 70er-jahre-kindheit. du bist das symbol für spiritualität, die farbe des buddhismus. du bist pure energie, vitamingeladen und opimistisch!

orange ich mag dich!

zugegebener maßen mag ich dich nicht immer gleich doll. es gab zeiten da gab es dich ganz viel in meinen vier wänden… und es gab zeiten, da habe ich mein kind in orange-pink benäht (die ein oder andere langjährige blogleserin erinnert sich vielleicht ;). im moment bist du in meinem leben eher spärlich vertreten (abgesehen von dem großen fotoPRINT von luzie & den goldfischen in unserem wohnzimmer!). aber wenn ich mir deine geballte ENERGIE so ansehe, sollte ich das vielleicht mal wieder ändern? du knallst so schön!

… you happy color, i just want to take up the cudgels for you today. i once read that you are the most UNloved color coming right after brown, when you ask people. i don’t understand that at all!!! for me you are a synonym for gleefulness, vitality and warmth. you are an attention-drawer, you warn and save people. you are THE color of my happy 70s childhood. you are the symbol of spirituality and buddhism. you are pure energy, vitamin-packed and optimistic!
orange i really like you!
i must admit that i don’t like you all the same all the time though. there were times when our home was full of you… and there were times when i sewed tons of orange-pinky stuff for my little one (the long-time readers of this blog maybe remember that times ;). today there’s not so much orange in my life (except for a huge photoPRINT of luzie & the goldfish which i love so much in our living room!). but when i look at this  concentrated ENERGY, i really think about giving you a bit more space again! you are such a bursting color!

außerdem bekomme ich beim durchblättern meines neuesten BUCHES jonathan ADLER on HAPPY chic COLORS gerade noch mehr spaß an dir!  das musste ich mir nämlich dringend zulegen, nachdem FRAU REHKÖNIGIN das genau so tolle HAPPY chic ACCESSORIZING vorgestellt hat… ;)
besides that you are even more FUN since i browsed through my new BOOK jonathan ADLER on HAPPY chic COLORS! i just had to buy this after having read the blog-posting of FRAU REHKÖNIGIN about HAAPY chic ACCESSORIZING which is so awesome, too…  ;)

ich liebe JONATHAN ADLER schon eine ganze weile, er ist mindestens so knallig und ANTI-DEPRESSIV wie du, liebes orange!

i have been loving JONATHAN ADLER before. he’s at least as happy and ANTI-DEPRESSIVE as you are, dear orange!

alle drei bücher von ihm sind übrigens ein unglaublicher AUGENSCHMAUS für alle, die FARBEN lieben…

every book of him is such an EYE CANDY for everyone who loves COLORS…

der farb-lemming…
the color lemming…
… hat wieder zugeschlagen. ihr wisst, ich bin einfach zu anfällig für trendfarben.
… strikes again. you know that i am far too prone to trend colors.
die ersten sommerklamöttchen sind eingezogen…

… und ein passendes accessoire habe ich mir auch gleich gemacht.
p.s. tatsächlich habe ich drei LOVEchirp pimpiCUFFs gestickt… eins für mich und zwei für den SHOP. nur falls ihr auch ein farb-lemming seid… ;)

{time to KEEP CALM and LURE SPRING again… lilac violett}

eigentlich…
actually…
… sind meine fotos von heute mehr “deep purple” als fliederlila! ein skandal, wenn man für sein eigenes fotoprojekt so schlecht vorbereitet ist, wie ich heute… und wer hat sich überhaupt diese farbe ausgedacht? in unserem haushalt gibt es nichts, absolut nichts, was ich hätte fotografieren können! *lach* naja, und zeit hatte ich heute eigentlich auch nicht. deshalb habe ich zwei schnappschüsse aus dem archiv gekramt…
… todays pics are more “deep purple” than lilac! concerning the fact that it’s my own photo project my prearrangement is just outrageous…. who the heck came up with that color please? there’s nothing, really nothing in this house i could have shot! *lol* well, i was too busy anyway. so i had to draw from the archiv…  
den lüla badeperlenspaß!
dafür finde ich die LILA COLLAGE, die hier heute im laufe des tages entstanden ist und immer noch weiter wächst, umso grandioser. was für ein augenschmaus! DANKE an euch alle, die ihr dabei seid… :)

{time to KEEP CALM and LURE SPRING again… week #4.. hyacinth blue}
so BLUE…
dieses bild ist eines meiner liebsten lieblingsbilder. es ist im letzten sommer in mexiko entstanden und ich erinnere mich noch ganz genau an das herzklopfen, das ich bei diesem atemberaubenden anblick hatte. es gab wirklich keinen sichtbaren horizont zwischen himmel und meer… so muss die unendlichkeit aussehen!
this photo is one of my very favorites. i shot it in mexico last summer and i still can remember my heart beating when i realized that there was no line of horizon to see between the sky and the ocean. it was breathtaking. i guess that’s what endlessness looks like! 
mein liebster duft… riecht für mich genau so wie das unendliche blau im oberen foto!
my favorite fragance… it just smells like the  endlees blue in the photo above!
ich mag die gläserne treppe im apple-store in NYC…
i like the glass stairs at the apple-store in NYC…

… und den frühling in PLANTEN & BLOOMEN!
jeden tag rückt er ein stückchen näher, der frühling!

bekenntnis eines farb-lemmings…
confessions of a color-lemming…
OK, ich liebe farben. das ist ja ein offenes geheimnis. natürlich gibt es farben, die sind so gar nicht mein fall… DENKE ich zumindest. zumindest so lange, bis sie sich irgendwie klammheimlich in mein leben schleichen…
OK, i love colors. that is an open secret. well, there are colors that are not my cup of tea of course… at least i think so. i think so until they somehow all on the quiet they sneak into my life…
… wie KORALLENROT zum beispiel! ups! wie um himmels willen ist das bloß passiert…? und was kommt als nächstes, bitte? lachsorange vielleicht? die farbe mag ich nämlich eigentlich gar nicht… zur zeit. ;)
und ihr so?
… like CORAL RED for example! oops! how the heck did that happen…?
and what comes next, please? salmon orange maybe? i really don’t like that color at all… at the moment. ;)

eine farbe zum eintauchen!
a color to dive into!
ich liebe türkis. es wäre wahrscheinlich das “longest blogpost ever” heute geworden, wenn ich alle türkisen dinge in unserem haus fotografiert und alle türkisen lieblingsfotos aus dem archiv gekramt hätte! mich auf ein paar bilder zu beschränken, fiel mir wirklich nicht leicht…
i love turquoise. i could have probably set up the “longest blog posting ever” if i shot all the aqua colored things in our house and browsed the archiv for all favorite turquoise pictures today! to limit myself to a few shots was kinda difficult…
gestern habe ich mir ein paar tulpen mitgebracht. die stehen jetzt ihrem eigenen swimming-pool! das vasen-schätzchen war ein geschenk… das liepsch! ;)
brought me some tulips yesterday. they have their own swimming-pool! this darling vase was a gift… i love it! :)
dieser mantel wartet dringend auf wärmeres wetter, und ich mit ihm…
{der war übringens ein 15-kracher-auktions-schnäppchen… HURRA!}
this coat is waiting for warmer weather and i am waiting with it…
{it was a 15-bucks-auction-bargain… YAY!}
für mich ist die farbe türkis ein symbol für mein ständiges fernweh…
deswegen liebe ich auch globen so sehr.
the color turquoise somehow symbolizes my permanent wanderlust….
thats why i love globes so much.
türkis ist die farbe meines lieblingselements…

frühlingsfeeling aus der dose
canned spring mood
die vier hübschen mussten heue aus dem baumarkt mit. wer kann schon farben widerstehen, die oasis, spring (!!!), nil und karibik heißen? ich nicht…
these four beauties had to come home with me from the DIY-store today. who could resist color that are named oasis, spring (!!!), nile and caribbean? i can’t …
eine etwas üppige renovierung mit vitaminreicher farbauffrischung steht in diesem frühling im hause pimpinella an… im moment stehen die chancen gut für LIMONE im wohnzimmer und ALOE VERA im schlafzimmer!
there’ll be a lot of renovation and color refreshment at the pimpinella home this spring… looks like it’s going to be LIME for the living room and ALOE VERA for the bedroom so far!

… ach ja… meine letzte pinsel-aktion war ja DIESE HIER. es waren die beine von vier kerlchen namens NILS, die normalerweise schwarz daherkommen. der stuhlbezug kommt euch sicherlich von einigen fotos sehr bekannt vor und es kamen auch schon einige fragen per email, was das denn für ein nettes stöffchen sei. nun, kennt ihr BEMZ schon? dort gibt es für alle gängigen polstermöbel des großen gelben, schwedischen möbelhauses maßgefertigte bezüge in einer wirklich tollen stoffauswahl. selbst große designer-namen, wie DESIGNERS GUILD & MARIMEKKO könnt ihr dort finden. eine tolle sache, wie ich finde… dem alten sofa ganz einfach einen brandneuen look verpassen zu können!
THIS was the last time i was painting something in the house… the legs of four guys named NILS turned from black to off white. maybe the seat cover looks familiar to you!? you might have seen it in the background of many pictures i took during the last few month. some of you even aked via email for the fabric of the chair cover. well, do you already know BEMZ? they offer a wide range of custom covers for the most popular upholstery furniture of the big yellow, swedish furniture store. you can even find big designer-names like DESIGNERS GUILD & MARIMEKKO there. i really think this is an awesome thing to give your old sofa a brandnew look!
