HAIR-BAND*tutorial for you…
… heute ist das erste update des neuen jahres im FARBENMIXshop und es sind knuffige bunte gummibänder als sonderposten im programm. ich habe sie auspobiert und fröhliche HAARBÄNDER daraus gemacht… vielleicht möchtet ihr es auch versuchen?
… today it’s the first update of the year at the FARBENMIXshop and they have gorgeous colorful elastic straps available as special items. i made some fancy HAIR-BANDS out of them … maybe you wanna try it too?

ihr braucht:
* gummiband natürlich
* kleine stickbuttons, stoff-jojos, häkelblümchen… je nach lust und laune
*webband… wer mag
* knöpfe
euch fällt bestimmt noch mehr ein. und wer ganz genau hinschaut, der sieht, dass neuerdings kein foto von mir perfekt ist, wenn es nicht mindestens ein katzenhaar enthält! ;)
yes? so here we go…!
you need:
*elastic straps of course
* small embroidery patches, fabric yoyos, crochet flowers… down to your own whim
* ribbons… if you want
* buttons
feel free to come up with your own ideas for embellishing materials! looking at the pic closely you might notice that no shot is perfect with at least one cat hair lately! ;)
ich habe zwei 51 cm lange gummiband-stücke abgeschnitten… probiert einfach mal aus, welche länge auch am kopf angenehm ist und passt die länge ggfs. an.
i took two pieces of elastic strap 51 cm (~ 20 inches)… you should try the perfect fitting length for yourself and adjust if necessary.
ich habe mich bei der verzierung erst einmal für den MATRUSCHKA PIMPINELLSKOVA stickbutton entschieden… ihn mit der zickzack-schere ausgeschnitten und ein zweites kreisrundes filzteil für die abdeckende rückseite.
i decided to take a
MATRUSCHKA PIMPINELLSKOVA embroidery patch as embellishment. i cut it with zigzag-scissors and cut a round piece of felt matching for the back too.
die position für den button habe ich auf beiden bändern bei einer länge von 18 cm markiert. diese position solltet ihr anpassen, falls ihr die bänder länger oder kürzer zugeschnitten haben solltet!
dort wird der button positioniert, ich habe ihn in richtung der kurzen bandseiten hin ausgerichtet sprühkleber ist übrigens hilfreich dabei!
i marked the position of the patch on the straps at 18 cm (~ 7 inches). you should adjust the position if you cut a longer or shorter strap!
i placed the patch there and adjusted it towards the short end of the straps. using temporarily spray mount (glue) is helpful!
das runde filzteil habe ich auf der rückseite platziert…
then i placed the blank felt on the back…
… und webbänder dazwischen gefasst.
die schnittkanten der bänder mit dem feuerzeug vorsichtig abflammen, damit sie später nicht ausfransen! ;)
… and i placed ribbons in between.
don’t forget to singe the cut edges of the ribbon with a lighter to avoid later fraying ! ;)
dann wurden aufnäher und rückseitiges filzteil mit den gummibändern dazwischen zusammen gesteppt.
then i sewed the patch and the backing piece of felt with the straps in between.
… noch einen knopf an die kleine madame genäht.
… then i sewed a button to the little madame.
um das haarband endgültig zu schließen habe ich zwei stücke schrägband an den kurzen kanten nach innen umgebügelt…
to close the hair-band finally i took two pieces of bias tape and ironed them at the shorter ends to the inside…
… die enden der gummibänder wurden zwischen den beiden schrägbandteilen festgesteckt. das ist ein bisschen fummelarbeit… aber in diesem schritt lässt sich noch einmal prima die länge anpassen, falls das band versehentlich mal zu kurz geraten sein sollte. denn ihr habt noch spielraum, wie weit ihr die gummiband-enden zwischen dem stoff verschwinden lasst! ;)
… and fixed the elastic ends in between the two pieces of bias tape… it’s a little tricky, but this is a good chance for a last adjustment if you may cut too short accidentally. because there is some space for placing the straps ends as you like! more inside or not. ;)
letzter schritt… das zusammensteppen aller teile mit einem kleinen zickzack-stich!
last step… sewing to join all pieces with a small zigzag stitch!
VOILÀ!!!
ach ja… und wenn ihr noch ein paar kurze stückchen übrig habt… macht doch zopfgummis draus! ;)

ist endlich angekommen!!! und für so einen augenschmaus muss man einfach alles stehen und liegen lassen und kann es sich immer und immer wieder anschauen… *seufz*
