my [insta]weekend

mein wochenende in INSTAGRAM… das war eine einladung für ein geo-caching wochenende in das weihnachtliche MERAN in südtirol. in die berge! da freut sich ein norddeutscher flachland-indianer wie ich ganz besonders.
my weekend in INSTRAGRAM…. i was invited to a weekend trip with geo caching to MERANO in south tyrol. off to see the mountains! what a pleasure für a flat country girl like me.

ich habe ganz exquisit gewohnt, aber dazu später mehr aund ausführlicher…

i stayed at an exquisite place… more about that later… 

ich habe in einer überdimensional großen christbaumkugel gespeist und ganz todesmutig blutwurst probiert. und ja… sie hat mir tatsächlich geschmeckt! 
i had dinner in a huge christmas bauble and i courageously tried  blood sausage. and yes… i really liked it! 

zusammen mit meinen blogger-kollegen stefan [kaffeeersatz] und jeremy [reisewerk] habe ich meran und umgebung erkundet. musste schon vor 11 uhr vormittag hausgemachten nusslikör kosten [das ganze in dem unglaublichen zuhause einer noch unglaublicheren alten dame] was mich nicht davon abhielt, ein paar stunden später für den besten glühwein ever auf den christkindlmarkt nochmal halt zu machen. 
i explored meran together with my blogger colleagues stefan [kaffeeersatz] und jeremy [reisewerk]. i had my first homemade walnut liqueur before 11 am at the amazing home of an even more amazing old lady…  and i had the very best hot spiced wine a few hours later on the christkindl market.

 
ich habe ganze tiroler schlösser in einer minute im nebel verschwinden sehen, habe kunsthandwerkermärkte in schlossgewölben besucht [alles mit ziemlich nassen stiefeln an den füßen] … habe kulinarik, land und leute genossen.
i saw tyrolian castles vanishing in the fog within a minute, visited artisan markets in old castle vaults, all in totally wet winter boots. i enjoyed the culirnary art, the people and landscape a lot.

auch, wenn ich noch gern geblieben wäre, musste ich mich dann gestern von diesem schönen fleckchen erde wieder verabschieden. aber ich komme ganz bestimmt wieder…
i loved to stay longer at this lovely place, yet i had to leave yesterday. but i’m coming back for sure.

auf der heimreise dann panik angesichts des beginnenden bahnstreiks in italien [und angesichts der hochgezogenen augenbraue des schaffners: “wo wollen sie hin? nach innsbruck? na dann viel glück!”] … die nerven mit dem knabbern besten getrockneten äpfeln meines lebens beruhigt… und dann doch noch rechtzeitig den innsbrucker flughafen erreicht.
traveling home i was freaked out facing the fact that the italian trains started a strike [and also facing the raised eyebow of the train conductor: “what? where do you want to go? to innsbruck? good luck, lady!”] … i calmed my nerves down with nibbling the best dries apples i ever had… and luckily arrived at the airport innsbruck in time.


… im flieger habe ich schlimme 80er jahre weihnachtsmusikberieselung ertragen und bin dann glücklich bei meinen liebsten gelandet, die in meiner abwesenheit sogar den weihnachtsbaum aufgestellt haben. jetzt ist es wirklich zeit, ein bisschen zur ruhe zu kommen und die zeit mit denen zu genießen, die ich liebe. weihnachten kann wirklich kommen. 
mehr details über diesen meran-trip gibt es noch im laufe der woche, wenn ihr also neugierig seid, bleibt dran…erst einmal wünsche ich euch einen grandiosen wochenstart!
… i endured some 80s christmas musik on board the plane and landed happily at home to hug my lovelies. they even set up the christmas tree while i was away. now it’s really time to get some rest and be together with the ones i love.

… unser wochenende in INSTAGRAM. wir sind durch die COLONNADEN und um den GÄNSEMARKT gebummelt, haben tannenbaumschmuck geshoppt (ja, das NYC yellow cab musste natürlich sein!) und BOOM DRIVES CRAZY gelauscht! was für eine tolle band! 
… our weekend in INSTAGRAM. we strolled though the COLONNADEN and around the  GÄNSEMARKT, we shopped christmas tree ornaments (yes, i had to have the NYC yellow cab!) and listened to  BOOM DRIVES CRAZY! what an awesome band!

wir haben im FRISCHEPARADIES paradiesiche leckereien (ab sofort gibt es chili-fäden auf allem!) geshoppt und hatten hinterher ein astra mit fischbrötchen im SCHELLFISCHPOSTEN. nein, INA war leider nicht da.
we did some delicious shopping at the FRISCHEPARADIES (as of now we’ll have chili hair with everything!) and we stopped for some astra and fish in a roll at the SCHELLFISCHPOSTEN (a quirky original sailor pub).

danach auf ein paar schmalzkuchen und glühwein auf den REEPERBAHN weihnachtsmarkt SANTA PAULI. wir haben peinliche fragen der mädels nach den auslagen in so mancher verkaufsbude beantwortet und uns zu sechst in einen fotoautomat gequetscht. was für ein spaß. 
we dropped by SANTA PAULI, the christmas market on the REEPERBAHN for some cruller and hot wine punch. we answered some quite awkward questions of the little one regarding the offered goods at some booths and we piled up with six people in a small photobooth! what a blast!

ihr lieben…hier eine kleine statusmeldung aus NYC. wir haben SANDY gut
überstanden…. nix passiert! unser hotel hat sogar noch strom. ich sage
doch… die glückscents! ich berichte dann mal ausführlicher, sobald
wir wieder daheim sind. es ist sicherlich kein urlaub, wie wir ihn
geplant haben, aber spannend und aufregend allemal… holymoly. wir
hoffen, unser flieger geht morgen planmäßig, aber genaues wissen wir
noch nicht, denn die flughäfen blieben heute noch geschlossen.

dear lovelies…another short status here from NYC. we are all fine safe and sound and we endured hurricane sandy without any remarkable turbulences. as i said before…. we found so many lucky pennies the day before. it had to be good for us in the end. i’ll report with some more details as soon as possible when we’re back at home. well, it actually wasn’t the vacation we imagined it to be, but it was an exiting experience… holymoly. we hope, our flight will be on schedule tomorrow, but we don’t know yet. the airports still have been closed today. 

wifi habe ich im hotel im moment nicht mehr, was es ein bisschen
schwierig macht, zu bloggen wie geplant. heute waren dann auch alle
starbucks mit w-lan hoffnungslos überfüllt. ich hatte keine lust, mich
dazwischen zu quetschen. deshalb… muss ich leider auch unsere BEAUTY
IS WHERE YOU FIND IT fotoaktion von morgen auf freitag oder sogar
samstag verschieben (so wir denn dann wie geplant zuhause angekommen
sind). ich hoffe, euch macht das angesichts der umstände nichts aus. ihr
solltet mich sehen… ich hocke jetzt in diesem moment vorm
geschlossenen (!) burger king auf der 5th avenue und nutze deren wifi für dieses posting!
crazy! 

at the moment i don’t have any wifi at the hotel anymore, so it’s a bit difficult to blog my planned updates. the starbucks cafés opened up again today, but they were all so very crowded. i didn’t want to spend my time to squeeze myself into this crowd. that’s why i have to postpone our BEAUTY
IS WHERE YOU FIND IT photo project on a later date like friday or even saturday. in the light of the things that happened, i hope you don’t mind. you should really see me now…  to post this i hunker down in front of the window of the closed (!) burger king on 5th avenue to get connected with their wifi which is still on! crazy!

kommentare und nachrichten. ich konnte noch nicht alles nachlesen, dafür
reichen meine kurzen onlinezeiten mit öffentlichem (und sehr
schwankendem) wifi einfach nicht aus. ich bin froh, dass ich es ab und
an mal schaffe, ein paar instagrams via phone zu posten… mehr klappt
im moment nicht. aber wenn alles gut läuft, dann lest ihr freitag von mir.

i’m sending greetings and thanks to you! thank you to those who were thinking of us, writing concerned comments here and sending messages via my instagram and facebook. i didn’t manage to read all of them yet either to reply. the wifi connection is quite instable and i feel lucky enough to be able to post some instagram pictures with my phone once in a while to keep a frequent kind of update. if everything works out fine, you will be hearing from me on friday, when we’re back home again.

sturmfront sandy update

stormfront sandy update 

vor zwei stunden (5 p.m. ortszeit) haben wir nochmal um die ecke geluschert… da fegten schon ein paar starke böen durch midtown… und doch… NYC dogs in yellow raincoats still have to do their poop-thing. ;). direkt um die ecke ist der KOREA TOWN (32th street), und die koreaner scheinen unerschütterlich, es sind einige restaurants geöffnet. so hatten wir koreanisches picknick auf dem hotelbett. nur die aufschrift auf der stäbchenverpackung scheint heute nicht wirklich passend.

two hours ago (5 p.m. local time) i peeped around the corner of the street… some strong gusts of wind already blew up 5th avenue… and still… NYC dogs in yellow raincoats still have to do their poop-thing. ;). there’s KOREA TOWN (32th street) at the next block and the korean people imperturbably still run their businesses. many restaurants are open. so we just had korean picnick on our hotel bed. solely the writing on the chop stick packaging sounds a bit out of place today.

mittlerweile hört man den wind, aber ich bin froh dass unser zimmer nach hinten in den innenhof geht, so bekommt man nicht sooo viel von den sturmgeräuschen mit. das ist sicher weniger beängstigend. apropos beängstigend… müsst ihr bei großgemusterten hotelflur-teppichen auch immer an SHININHG denken? redrum redrum redrum… sorry, ein bisschen galgenhumor muss sein.

you can hear some winds by now, but not that much. for the first time, i’m kinda glad that our windows are point to the backside of the building into a small, tight atrium. that keeps most of the storm noises out, wich might have freaked us out. it’s surely less scary this way. speaking of scary things… do large scale patterned hotel carpets also remind you of SHINING? this is what comes to my mind every time… redrum redrum redrum… excuse my gallows humor. it’s a must right now.

waiting for the frankenstorm!

ihr lieben… ein kurzes lebenszeichen von uns hier direkt an der sturmfront!  es gibt sicherlich bessere zeiten, um seinen urlaub in NYC zu verbringen, als gerade jetzt. aber nun sind wir hier und halten die norddeutschen öhrchen steif. noch ist die steife brise namens SANDY nicht eingetroffen, aber wir harren der dinge die da kommen.
gestern haben wir uns mit essen, wasser und kerzen für den fall einen stromausfalls eingedeckt. wir haben das glück, dass unser hotel, das WOLCOTT in midtowm manhattan liegt (31st street, zwischen broadway und 5th avenue), also nicht an der evakuierungszone… also hocken wir jetzt auf dem zimmer und machen es uns gemütlich.

hi lovelies… just dropped in for a quick sign of life from over here at the stormfront! there are probably better times to visit NYC, but we’re here and we definitely keep our northern-german chin up! the stiff breeze called SANDY didn’t arrive here in our place yet. we’re now waiting for things to come. 

we got ourselves some supplies yesterday and bought some food and candles in case of a power outage. luckily our hotel, the WOLCOTT , is located in midtowm manhattan (31st street between broadway and 5th avenue), it’s not in the evacuation zone… so we’re sitting in our hotel room right now trying to keep things kinda cozy.

heute morgen waren wir nochmal zwei stündchen unterwegs. es hatte über nacht ein bisschen geregnet, aber von dem bevorstehenden hurricane war noch nichts zu merken. ein bisschen wind, ein bisschen regen… doch alles soweit entspannt. der deli gegenüber und auch ein paar andere restaurants haben (oder hatten, denn wie die momentane lage ist, weiß ich nicht) geöffnet. die auslagen waren noch prall gefüllt, der CVS um die ecke sah auch nicht leergekauft aus. hier in der gegend ist von hamsterkäufen und panik nichts zu spüren, aber ich kann mir vorstellen, dass es in den wassernahen stadtteilen anders aussieht. wir vermeiden es, den fernseher anzuschalten, denn luzie hat im moment noch gar keine angst, und wir fürchten, das könnte sich ändern, sobald sie sieht, was mancherorts schon los ist.

this morning we went out for a walk. we had a bit of rain over night, but there are still no remarkable signs of the approaching hurricane. a little windy, a little rainy… but everything still feels totally relaxed so far. well, exept for the personal suspense. the deli across the street is still open. they were not sold out at all… there’s still plenty of water and food. i imagine though that somewhere downtown near the waterfronts the situation is more tensed up. we avoid turning on the TV as the pictures might freak luzie out. until now she’s still relaxed and not frightened at all. better it stays this way. i suppose her mood might change when seeing what’s going on in some other more affected places.

 

auf den strassen sah man mehr gummistiefel als üblich. die geschäfte bleiben heute geschlossen und die subway ist seit gestern abend um 7 außer betrieb. ein komisches gefühl ist das irgendwie schon. ich habe die letzten tage alle möglichen new yorker, mit denen ich ins gespräch gekommen bin, gefragt ob sie angst haben. alle haben “NEIN, nicht wirklich!” geantwortet. das beruhigt uns europäer, die wir nun mal hurrikans nun nicht wirklich gewohnt sind, dann doch irgendwie.

on the streets i saw more gumboots than usual. the stores are mostly closed and the subway shut down service yesterday at 7 pm. i must admit it’s a weird feeling. the last few days i asked a lot of locals if they were afraid. everybody anwsered ” NO, not that much!”. that was kinda relieving. after all we europeans are not really used to deal with hurricanes.

wie gesagt… die nachrichten können einen etwas nervös machen, aber alle hoffen, dass es glimpflicher ausgeht als erwartet. einige geschäfte sind mit sandsäcken geschützt. es werden auf jeden fall starke regenfälle erwartet, auch wenn wir hier mitten in manhattan erst einmal  nicht mit überschwemmungen rechnen. blumen gibt es heute nur drinnen. ob wirklich jemand welche kauft? schirme sind auf jeden fall heute so einige verkauft worden….

as i said…. the TV news can make you quite nervous, but everyone is hoping for less damage than expected. many shops perpared their front doors with sand bags to reduce water flooding as they expect heavy rains here in midtown. flowers are solely sold inside today. i wonder if anybody really buys some? at least there have been sold lots of umbrellas today.

heute morgen waren noch ganz tapfer die jungs von der stadtreinigung am times square unterwegs und haben ordnung gemacht. wieso bloß? es wird morgen sicherlich sehr viel aufzuräumen sein! wie lächerlich, die jungs heute arbeiten zu lassen. ich hoffe, auch sie sind mittlerweile zuhause. die belegschaft vom MACY’s durfte heute gleich ganz zuhause bleiben. schirm-opfer sind mit sicherheit schon zahlreiche zu verzeichenen… aber auch andere, größere objekte sind mittlerweile eingeknickt. ich bin ganz froh, dass wir hier nur im 9. stock hocken und unsere fenster in einen kleinen innenhof gehen… eine tatsache, mit der ich sonst auch schon mal gehadert habe.

i saw some guys from the times square alliance still cleaning up the streets this morning. why? there will be probably a lot more to be cleaned up tommorrow! ridiculous to let them work. i hope these tough guys are safe and sound at home now. MACY’s didn’t open today, they told their staff to stay at home. i already saw many umbrella victims along the way… but also bigger things collapsed. i’m glad only to be on the 9th floor here in the hotel and that our windows point to the backside of the building into a tight atrium… a fact that i usually don’t love that much.

 

ein furchtbares gefühl überkommt einen, wenn man die obdachlosen sieht. ich hoffe inständig, sie finden schutz heute und morgen. so langsam merkt man, dass es losgeht. ein bisschen geht einem da schon die muffe. aber wir haben gestern so viele glücks-cents gefunden, wie noch nie an einem tag. wenn das mal nichts heißt… also, alles wird gut.

got an awful feeling looking at the homeless on the streets. will they find shelter when the storm will rage over the city? i hope so. you can feel it starts now. feeling kinga funky meanwhile. but after all we have all those lucky pennies we found yesterday, right? … just hope everything will be good in the end.

es ist ja mittlerweile kein geheimnis mehr, dass ich, nebem meinem BLOGbaby hier und der dazugehörigen fotografie, auch mein INSTAGRAM sehr liebe! es soll sogar leute geben, die meine insta-fotografie auch lieben… also war es vielleicht nur eine frage der zeit, dass das hier passierte…
it’s probably an open secret to you that, besides my BLOGbaby and the photography in general, i really do love my INSTAGRAM. there even might be some people who love my insta-photography, too. so it was probably just a question of time until this happened…

vor ein paar tagen habe ich euch noch auf meiner FACEBOOKseite um ein paar unterstützende klicks gebeten, damit ich nicht in der langen warteschlange für die eröffnung einer instacanv.as galerie vielleicht noch in die menopause komme. heute kann ich mich schon für euren lieben support bedanken! die jungs dort haben meine instacanv.as GALERIE gestern freigegeben und sie ist jetzt online! YAY! also mein herzliches dankeschön an alle, die mich dabei mit einem klick unterstützt haben. ihr seid die besten!
a few days ago i asked on my FACEBOOK page for a little support of my friends to help me to open my instacanv.as gallery. the waiting queue there is quite long and some clicks would surely push me forward in the line. and it helped! YAY! my instacanv.as GALLERY has been reviewed and approved yesterday and it’s now open for public! thank you to everyone who supported me. you are the best!
und wo wir gerade beim thema instagram sind… ich bin ich heute zufällig über einen (mal wieder) gradiosen artikel von heike kaufhold bei KÖLNFORMAT gestolpert: MEINE 10 BENIMMREGELN FÜR INSTAGAMM NUTZER. absolut lesens- und beherzenswert, wie ich finde. heikes letzter tipp, instagram im flugmodus zu benutzen, wenn man nicht gleich alle fotos die man so schießt, auch sofort hochladen will, habe ich eine ganze weile genauso gehandhabt. allerdings war es mir dann doch teilweise etwas zu zeitraubend , mit der normalen iPHONE-kamera im ganz normalen, rechteckigen bildformat zu knipsen und später auf das quadratische format croppen (also das bild beschneiden) zu müssen, wenn ich es dann bei instagram hochladen wollte. oft verschätzt man sich da einfach beim fotografieren auch ein bisschen mit der bildaufteilung, so dass das gecroppte bild dann doch nicht das gelbe von ei ist. vielleicht fehlt mir aber auch einfach noch die übung. ein bisschen umständlich fand ich die variante mit dem flugmodus also immer, einfach weil es jedes mal ein paar extraklicks und somit zeit unterwegs kostet. ganz glücklich war ich dann, als ich die 6×6 kamera-app entdeckte. seitdem fotografiere ich alles, was instagram-format haben soll damit! die kamera kommt ohne großen filter-schnickeldi daher, macht dafür wunderbar scharfe bilder (fokus und belichtung können durch tappen aufs display optimiert werden) in einer super qualität, in farbe und wahlweise B/W. die fotos sind 1:1, haben also quadratisches format und sind somit von vorn herein perfekt zum späteren teilen auf instagram! perfekt für mich!
talking about instagram… i just came across an older but totally awesome article by heike kaufhold on KÖLNFORMAT : MY 10 DOs AND DONTs FOR INSTAGRAMERS (sorry, it’s in german language only). i’m totally with her. 
today i’d like to share my favorite iPHONE camera apps with you. often (especially while travelling) i shoot photos without instantly uploading them to instagram. it simply takes a lot of extra time when your are on a day trip so i prefer to upload in the evening while relaxing at the hotel or wherever and whenever i find the time to. i dislike shooting with the “normal” cam and having to crop the pictures afterwards into a 1:1 square format to use them for instagram though. so i was more than happy when i stumbled upon the 6×6 camera app! it comes without any fancy filters but it shoots in square format in an awesome high resolution quality, both in color and B/W. focus and exposure can be optimized by tapping on the display. it’s easypeasy to use and the photos are just perfect for uploading them on instagram! perfect for me!

neben der 6×6, meiner momentanen lieblingskamera auf dem phone, habe ich noch einige andere favoriten. die verrate ich euch heute auch gern… 
dank eines tipps von frau TASTESHERIFF, habe ich jetzt schon eine ganze weile PICFX im gebrauch. die kamera selbst benutze ich eigentlich eher nicht, aber ich liebe diese app für die bildbearbeitung. sie bietet eine große palette an farbfiltern, overlays und texturen, um den fotos einen ganz besonderen look zu geben. die bearbeiteten fotos können von dort aus auch direkt auf instagram hochgeladen werden. ein großes I LIKE von mir für diese app! 
besides the 6×6, which is definitely my favorite at the moment, i do have some other camera apps that i really love and that i like to share with you…
some time ago mrs TASTESHERIFF introduced me to PICFX. i don’t really use the camera it comes with, but i love the photo-editing with this app! it offers a wide palette of rad filters, overlays and textures which make your pics look kinda special. you can upload to instagram directly. a big LIKE from me for this app.
eine der ersten schnickeldi-fancy-filter-apps, die ich mir als iPHONE-greenhorn (das ich noch vor ein paar monaten war) heruntergeladen habe, ist VINTAGE CAMERA. sie knipst ebenfalls gleich im 1:1 format, vintage rollfilm-mäßig eben… allerdings in keiner allzu guten qualität, weshalb ich darauf verzichte und lieber nur die bildbearbeitungsfunktionen nutze. leider fügt sie dem foto immer automatisch einen rahmen hinzu, was ich nicht so sehr mag. das sehe ich nämlich genau wie heike in ihrem PUNKT 5… verschiedene rahmen machen einen instagram-feed irgendwie unruhig und optisch unharmonisch, deshalb verzichte ich gern komplett darauf. das heißt dann allerdings auch, dass ich ein foto, dass ich mit einem der vintage-filter bearbeitet habe, im nachhinein noch einmal mit einem anderen bildbearbeitungsprogramm croppen muss. etwas umständlich, aber das nehme ich für manche aufnahmen gern in kauf. die mitgelieferten filter geben den bildern einen vorwiegend warmen und gelbstichigen look. wer genau das mag und wer sich an den rahmen nicht stört, der wird mit dieser app spaß haben. 
one of the first superfancy-filter camera apps i ever used when i was an iPHONE greenhorn (actually that was a few month ago), was VINTAGE CAMERA. it also shoots in 1:1 square format like a vintage roll film. the resolution isn’t optimal though, that’s why i don’t use the cam but only the editing features. unfortunately it automatically adds a frame to every picture taken with the cam or edited. i don’t like that fact too much, because i usually don’t use any frames in my pics. i think they make an insta-feed look disharmonious, so i avoid them. that means that i have to crop the frames off again after editing… but i accept this inconvenience for the sake of the awesome color-filters. they give the pictures a vintage look in mostly warm and yellow-ish tones. if you’re a fan of that and if you’re fine with framing, you can have lots of editing-fun using this app.
die letzte app, die ich euch vorstellen möchte, ist PIXLR-O-MATIC plus. davon gibt es sogar eine freie online-bildbearbeitung oder das programm als download für den PC… außerdem einen BLOG mit ganz vielen tips rund um das programm. die iPHONE app bietet neben der kamera (die ich wiederum nicht benutze) unzählige coole filter und overlays zur bildbearbeitung. eine auswahl an rahmen hat sie ebenfalls in petto, aber die rahmen sind ja wie gesagt nicht meins… ;)
ich hoffe, ihr mochtet meine kleine app-review. viel spaß beim knipsen!

the last app i’d like to present, is PIXLR-O-MATIC plus. maybe you know already the online editing version or you have the program as a download on your computer!? if so, you shouldn’t miss the BLOG which offers you lots of tips for your photo editing. anyway, i use the app on my iPHONE mostly for editing pictures. it has a huge variety of cool filters and overlays to choose from. it also comes with many framing possibilities, but as you know, they are not really my cuppa tea… ;)

am 12. spiele ich immer gern eine runde mit frau KÄNNCHEN und allen anderen mitspielern. heute besonders gern, denn sie hat geburtstag! herzlichen glückwunsch nochmal, caro… ich drück dich!
i love to play along with mrs. KÄNNCHEN and the other players. today it’s especially awesome, because it’s her birthday! happy birthday, caro… sending you some big hugs!

 

 warum steht da “einkaufen neu erleben”, wenn es sich doch wieder jede woche gleich doof anfühlt? … und ja, ich liebe lebensmittel auch, aber nicht wenn ich mich damit abschleppen muss.

 

the most boring part of every friday… doing the groceries. i really dislike that.

 

 

ich fand nicht nur die tatsache befremdlich, dass es schon adventskalender gibt, sondern auch das design. was da wohl drin ist? schokomöpse? und wo die wohl hängen werden? BW spinde? trucker-fahrerkabinen? egal… ich habe mir lieber ein paar nelken gekauft.
i thought it was strange to have advent calendars at the supermarket so soon, even more strange were the designs. well… what may be inside? chocolate boops? and where will they be hung up? ok, i didn’t really care… i better got myself some pretty flowers.

 

 

hab mich, darüber gefreut, endlich mal wieder für mich selbst genäht zu haben: einen supermuckeligen fledermaus-sweater [gleicher schnitt wie der vom kleinen fräulein neulich]… dann darüber geärgert, dass es schon wieder regnet.
i was really happy about my new handmade, cozy  sweater [sewn according to the same pattern as the little ones sweater i posted lately]… but unhappy about the cold and rainy weather.

 

 

luzie hat endlich ihre sammlung an WWF tierstickern komplettiert. hurra! … und ich endlich meine gelbgepinselte 70er garderobe im flur fertig. ebenso hurra!
luzie luckily completed  her collection of WWF animal stickers. yay! … and i finished to fix  the 70s wardrobe in the hall. double yay!

 

dann ein päuschen mit tee und stollen… und ein paar unvermeidliche matheübungen.

then i took a little break with tea and stollen… and practised maths with the little one.

 

wieder mal herzklopfen bekommen bei diesem SONG… und schon wieder flammkuchen gemacht, ich bin wohl süchtig. ich wünsche euch ein schönes wochenende, ihr lieben!

my [insta]weekend

wie mein wochenende bisher aussah…. vornehmlich gelb und immer wieder gelb, bis es mir wirklich zum hals heraus hing. zumindest ein bisschen. mit einer mischung von sturm, regen und sonne. mal wunderbar herbstlich, mal schrecklich uzzelig. gestern abend dann ab über die elbbrücken auf ein nettes treffen mit den mädels vom BLOGST workshop in der TARTERIE auf st. pauli und somit dem zweiten flammkuchen innerhalb von zwei tagen. der erste war selbstgemacht, nach diesem REZEPT. folgend spätnächtliches geschnatter und tee in der küche von der lieben frau TASTESHERIFF zusammen mit frau 23qmSTIL und frau PETITE CUISINE. herrlich! heute selbstgemachte pfannkuchen und apfelmus aus eigenen äpfeln vom töchterlein… und nebenbei immer noch gelb. 
und gleich? gibts den SCHARFEN VOGEL hier und dann freu ich mich auf HOCHSPANNUNG. ich wünsche euch allen einen gemütlichen sonntagabend, ihr lieben… 
what my weekend looked like… mostly yellow and yellow over and over again. so much yellow, that i got really bored. at least a bit. there was storm and rain and sunshine in between. sometimes so amazing lovely autumn like and sometimes simply ugly. i meet the lovely girls from the BLOGST workshop at the TARTERIE in st. pauli and had the second tarte flambée in two days. the first one was homemade acording to this yummy RECIPE. i had late night tea and chatter in the kitchen of sweet mrs. TASTESHERIFF together with mrs.23qmSTIL und mrs. PETITE CUISINE. totally gorgeous! today my little one made us some pancakes and applesauce made from the apples in our backyard… and that yellow painting went on. 
and now? there will be some HOT BIRD on our plates soon and i’m looking forward to some white-knuckle BLOCKBUSTER on tv tonight. i hope, you enjoy your sunday evening, peeps!

heute: beim friseur gewesen. mein pferdeschwanz sah schon aus wie ein struppiger besen. darüber nachgedacht, ob ich mir einen bleistiftrock kaufen soll. eingekauft. blumen mitgebracht und katze gefüttert.
today: went to the hairdresser. my ponytail really looked like a scrabby broom. wondered if i should get myself a pencil skirt. did the groceries. bought some flowers and fed the cat.

 

 

den ersten kürbis des jahres geschlachtet. nelken in die vase gestellt und gefreut. festgestellt, dass ich selbst wie ein kürbis aussehe… irgendwie. kürbissuppe mit curry und meerettich gekocht. sehr lecker. ausnahmsweise NICHT die hausaufgaben von luzie betreut, denn die hatte heute ihren oma&opa-tag. sehr schön.
killed my first pumpkin of the year. enjoyed putting the pinks in vases. noticed that i look like a pumpkin myself… somehow. cooked pumpkin soup spiced with curry and horseraddish. so yummy. exeptionally did NOT supervise luzie’s homework as it was her gandma&grandpa day today. enjoyed that a lot!
zwischendurch andere lästige sachen gemacht und diese nicht alle fotografiert. den lieblingskuchen des lieblingsmanns gebacken. pflaumentarte mit schmandguss. mich schon mal auf einen dekandenten abend auf dem sofa vorgefreut. auf die heimkehr der familie gewartet.
und wie war EUER TAG?
did other bothersome stuff instead. didn’t take pictures of everything though. made my favorite hubby’s favorite pie. plum tarte. looked forward to a decadent evening on my sofa. waited for the family to come home.

sunday family walk

wo ist nur die zeit geblieben? eigentlich wollte ich ja freitag noch bloggen, aber irgendwie habe ich es gar nicht mehr geschafft, euch eine schöne zeit zu wünschen. sorry. ach leute, war das ein wochenende!? der sommer hat nochmal aus allen knopflöchern gestrahlt, es war herrlich! wir hatten ein familienwochenende mit (fast) allen, die dazugehören… mama, oma, schwestern, bruder, schwager… mit sonnenschein, erdbeerkuchen von oma, mary poppins und der documenta in kassel am samstag, aber dazu später noch ein paar fotos. bis morgen, ihr lieben… 
where did the time fly? actually i wanted to write a blog post on friday to wish y’all a good time, but i just didn’t manage. sorry. wasn’t it a perfect weekend, folks? summer did its best, it was just awesome! we spent a lovely family weekend together with (almost) all members… mom, granny, sisters, brother, brother in law… with sunshine, granny’s strawberry cake, mary poppins and the documenta art exhibit in kassel on saturday. i’ll show you some photos later. see you tomorrow…

unser wochenende in bildern… samstag sind wir auf dem hamburger UHLENFEST gebummelt…
our weekend in pics… we strolled over the UHLENFEST in hamburg on saturday… 

… hatten ein paar holländische POFFERTJES, verschmähten die HAMBURGER KNÜPPEL, obwohl sie so herrlich hanseatisch angepriesen wurden… und tranken stattdessen zum ersten mal HUGO [ganz nett, aber nicht so mein fall, prosecco ist einfach nicht meins…]
… we had some yummy POFFERTJES, didn’t try the HAMBURGER KNÜPPEL though, but had our first HUGO [i think it was OK but i didn’t like it sooo much as i’m just not that prosecco-girl at all]

am sonntag haben wir im kino beim LORAX über die bittere wahrheit dieses film gemeinsam geheult… 
on sunday we went to the movies to see the LORAX and cried about the bitter truth that lies pretty much in it.

… und im familienkreis 12 jahre verheiratetsein gefeiert. ♥
ich hoffe, euer wochenende war wunderbarstens… ich wünsche euch einen schönen start in die neue woche!

was für ein glorioser sommersonntag! so manchem mag die wärme schon wieder zuviel sein, aber von mir aus darf es gern so bleiben… bis ende oktober oder so. auch, wenn es mir unter diesen bedingungen noch erheblich schwerer fällt, wieder vom urlaubsmodus in den alltagstrott umzuschalten. auweia. aber was solls, schließlich war ja sonntag. also haben wir… 
what an amazing summer sunday! some of you might suffer from the heat but this is just my kind of weather, i love it! it may stay this way until end of oktober.. or so… if you ask me. even if that means that i have hard times getting from holiday mode into daily routine again. oh my. but after all it was sunday… and after all it’s still the school summer holidays… so we did…

… nochmal mächtig geplanscht.(da rechts im bild seht ihr, oder besser seht ihr nicht, stephan aka “the splash” ;)

… und einen bummel über den letzten abend des hamburger doms gemacht. sie haben allen ernstes direkt hinter uns angefangen, abzubauen. 23 uhr in hamburg und man schwitze bei 28° immer noch. so hätte ichs gern öfter!

und wie habt ihr den wahrscheinlich heißesten tag des jahres verbracht?

meine bilder des tages… wir haben das wetter genossen und waren planschen! der riesen haufen urlaubswäsche muss warten.
my pics of the day… we enjoyed the weather and went swimming! the huge pile of vacation laundry has to wait.

… HIER übrigens und das zum ersten mal. ein sehr nettes freibad mit spaßfaktor und mal wirklich angenehmenn wassertemperaturen. da freut sich so eine frostbeule, wie ich es bin doch sehr… ;)
… we spent our day HERE and really liked it. they have some pretty fun stuff and the water temperature was quite convinient for a “frosty” like me… ;)

travel kroatien | kurzer spaziergang durch zagreb

ich bin euch ja noch ein paar fotos schuldig… denn nach dem aufregenden URBAN ADVENTURE tag in zagreb, hatte ich am abreisetag noch ein bisschen zeit für einen kleinen bummel durch die stadt. auf einem spaziergang zusammen mit meiner bloggerkollegin JULIA STELZNER aus berlin sind dann noch diese impressionen entstanden…
i still owe you to show some more zagreb photos i took after the amazing URBAN ADVENTURE day. on my day of departure i had a little time for a short stroll through the city, accompanied by my lovely blogger mate JULIA STELZNER from berlin. here are my impressions…

leider war die zeit viel zu kurz. ich wär’ gern länger geblieben…

so sad that there was so little time. i’d love to stay longer…
