sweet santa
because some of you already asked via mail or here in the blog… YES! santa has been very sweet to me indeed. actually he pooled together with the birthday fairy to bring me a new toy…
well, i upgraded… i got a nikon D5000… and i am so happy about it!
probably it will take years until i am going to be well versed using it (maybe never), but who cares? to be honest to be versed sounds like a joke to me, actually i (almost) have no clue about technics of photography… i just shoot pics on a gut level! try & error is my principle of operating. i really needed a photography class to learn what i am doing there finally… but i don’t know where to squeeze it into my schedule?
so i’ll go on learning by doing… it didn’t work out that bad so far. but you see, i am not able to tell you any technical theory! *lol* i really hope you’re not too dissapointed…
(… with my “old” little lumix)
but i got some (totally untechnical) tips for you though. i’ve been asked
before about my camera. the last one i used was a
panasonic lumix DMC-FZ8… a bridge camera. if you want to upgrade from a point-and-shoot-camera this is really a good stop on your way to a DSLR. i’ve always been happy with this small, light cutie and its skills. it even was a step ahead of some DSLRs with its 12x optical zoom and its high quality leica lens! although i upgraded now i won’t part with her!
by the way… the credits for this shot go to
mrs. rehkoenigin since i don’t have many pictures of me together with my camera… for obvious reasons! *lol* thank you, ulli!
( with my “old” little lumix… photo credits for this shot: luzie :)
*lach*
viel spaß!
i’m a fan of “low angle” photography… you can see me crawl on the floor quite often (ask our neighbors)! *lol* first the new nikon meant quite a re-orientation for me. to look through a finder again and not to set the picture via display felt odd. but not for long fortunately. it feels good now. of course i don’t want to miss ground- or object-close shooting though but sometimes it’s just not possible to look through the finder from these perspectives. so i am happy that the nikon display is turnable (
live preview)… i can even shoot aorund the corner! ;)
well, i’ve been asked for filters and editing too lately… i don’t use any filters but for sure i edit every picture! honestly it is the same here… i don’t now anything about the technics, i just try and stop when it looks good to me! so please don’t expect any tutorial from me about the
what and
when in photo-editing for now. but i can tell you that i am using
photoimpact (here’s a test-version as download ) and also
picnik for it.
but well… maybe you wanna try just like me… wildly klicking around and see what happens! *lol*
have fun!
