travel | frühstück & shopping in rockport, MA

i told you before how much i fell i love with that new england place called ROCKPORT. so after a KAYAK-TOUR, a stroll over BEARSKIN NECK and a sweet tooth stop at the FUDGERY let me take you for a yummy breaktfast and for some gorgeous shopping.

the owner of the lovely B&B we stayed in had an own partner breakfast place. but when we came into town in the morning, we noticed a line of people in front of the RED SKIFF seafood & grille. we asked some of the people if they were rockport residents or tourists and then we joined the queue. we always know that it must be a good place if natives stand i line for some eating!

i’m definitely not a croissant and jam girl. i love myself some hearty and solid brakfast. give me scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and fried potatoes and i’m happy. you got french toast and maple syrup as well? perfect! you know i love that STUFF!! the fräulein likes herself some blueberry pancakes. and of course they had all that at this place! so we were all happy. sometimes i get to think, what stephan loves the most about the USA are the endless coffee-refills. that’s just his kinda cuppa!

the red skiff is a lovely down-to-earth place to eat! they have very kind service and reasonable prices. someone told me that their lunch is very yummy, too, and that they serve a good chowder and tasty burgers. so if you ever come around and you see people lining up, go and stand in the queue! it’s worth waiting a bit.

let’s go for some shopping after breakfast!  rockport of course has some of those typical knick-nack stores, that all the tourist places have. but there are also some really awesome stores to shop at, like LULA’s PANTRY and MILK & HONEY
for example. looking at all the beautiful maritime interior accessoires and the pretty crockery made me long for a home by the sea. a house with light grey shingles bleached by the ocean wind with pastel colored window frames. mint green would be perfect, don’t you think?

actually i fell in love with the pastel colored rugs. typically i’m smitten by that stuff that would cause horrible cost for extra baggage. so sad! they would have looked so freakin’ gorgeous here after our living room makeover! sigh.

aww…love that place…all of those places! So glad you went AND had such a fabulous time (it's to be expected there, but still… ;-) I so very much miss living by the sea. Marburg is pretty, but it's a different kind of pretty.

Only about 3km down the road in Gloucester. ;-) I was there for about 10yrs (Uni + danach), so yes, I know it well. =) Glad you had fun traveling and so smart of you to go where the locals go!

      nein, keine reduzierungshilfe! haha!
