… and off we go, over the williamsburg bridge back to manhattan!
EDIT:
p.s. because some of you were wildketting here and on facebook… YES! there are some very different theories about shoes on a wire… here you can read about SHOEFITI! ;) my personal theorie is, that in most people do this just for fun… and (as always) where’s one lonely shoe’s hung over a wire more company will follow soon. my two cents.

    I am constantly amazed at the way you can find beauty and art in the ordinary – building facades, sidewalks, etc. Plus, you seem to have made NY look cleaner than I remember it! I hope you came back from your trip relaxed and full of inspiration to create more wonderful things.

    I always wondered about the shoes. My husband is in the army and soldiers (paratroopers specifically) always throw their boots over wires when they leave the military, so I see that often. I never realized that it happened so often with other shoes, too.

    PS – Happy Belated Birthday!

    @nicole…
    oh! da muss ich gleich mal rüberkommen & gucken!

    @jen…
    thank you very much!!! i really don't experience NYC as "dirty"… ok, there are some dirty places, but you do have them in every city.
    that what i love about photography… your eye learns to see the beauty in the ordinary. :)))

    XO!

    Thanks for the link about shoe flinging – I have noticed trainers on telephone wires in a couple of places in the UK and have always wondered why they were up there. Although I suspect, like you, that it's kids messing around. It was an interesting read!
